Dublin Bay North Labour TD Seán Kenny has welcomed the provision of funding on the basis of Access for All at Scoil Bhride in Donaghmede.

"Scoil Bhride requires this funding as they continue to provide primary education to our local children and in particular our local children with special needs and disabilities, which is what this particular allocation of funding is for."

"I warmly welcome the funding. It is vitally important that the country maintains its educational facilities at primary level, in order to accommodate the increasing numbers of pupils over the next few years. We have to plan ahead for this, and this funding is a part of that planning."

"A five year plan Schools Capital Programme was unveiled earlier this year worth €1.5 billion and the rolling out of this funding is being overseen by Minister for Education Jan O'Sullivan. This funding will see a total of 275 major school buildings projects commenced between now and 2016. The €100 million loan being provided by the European Investment Bank (EIB) will assist in funding this investment. Construction work being supported by this initiative is expected to be completed during 2014."
