Dublin Bay North Labour TD Seán Kenny has welcomed the announcement today of an increase of €10 million euro for disability housing by Minister for Housing and Planning, Jan O'Sullivan.

"This is an important boost in capital funding that will provide people with homes in their communities and is most welcome. The amount that has been secured by Minister O'Sullivan will result in up to 90 extra units for those with disabilities."

"€100 million euro in capital funding is committed to providing up to 800 new homes for people with a disability between 2012 and 2014, ensuring that citizens have access to suitable accommodation in the areas where they live."

"Labour is committed to supporting those with disabilities and I know that Minister O'Sullivan and Minister Kathleen Lynch are working across their Departments in Housing and in Health to deliver on the Framework for the National Housing Strategy for People with Disabilities."
