Dublin Bay North Labour TD Seán Kenny has welcomed the creation of 60 new jobs for Dublin and the setting up of a new European HQs by Etsy, PE Lynch and 10Gen.

"Part of the Government's plan for jobs and growth is ensuring that we attract more fast-growing start-ups and emerging companies to locate in Ireland, so that they establish deep roots here from early in their growth and make a substantial impact on our economy. There is also of course the possibility that these start-ups will become world-leading companies in the future.

"Today's announcement that three high-growth emerging technology companies are locating operations in Dublin is great news for Ireland. Through continued implementation of the Action Plan for Jobs we are determined to ensure that more fast-growing start-ups and emerging companies locate in Ireland, develop here and create the jobs we need.

"Etsy has over 22 million members and more than 800,000 active shops on its marketplace website. Dublin was chosen as its European HQ location due to its strong cluster technology businesses and the availability of the skills Etsy needs to prosper. PE Lynch and 10Gen also chose Ireland and Dublin as the location for its new HQ because of the skills available.

"Ireland understands the current and future value of the technology industry and is embracing it very rapidly. The technology talent in Ireland and in Dublin is exceptionally smart and I am certain there will be more tech companies setting up here in the months and years to come."
