Dublin Bay North Labour Party T.D., Sean Kenny, has welcomed the announcement that LogMeIn, Inc. a leading provider of cloud computing and mobile services has opened an office in Dublin.

"Located on the Dublin quays, the new office will house a variety of European and international functions, including sales, customer support, marketing, finance and human resources. The company is actively recruiting for all these roles and has already more than 20 employees planned to start in the office within the next three months, with plans to nearly triple its staff within the year.

"Cloud computing is a key sector of the technology industry which the Government has targeted in the Action Plan for Jobs. The Government has implemented a number of changes to support the development of a strong cloud computing industry here. The announcement that LogMeIn, a leading company in this sector, is locating an important facility in Dublin with the planned creation of 50 jobs is a further indication of the strong growth of this sector in Ireland. With continued implementation of the Action Plan for Jobs, the Government will ensure that we can see further cloud computing investments like this in the near future, and I am determined to support the Government in this.

"Dublin is a great location for European expansion by technology companies, given the unique combination of a highly educated workforce, and a growing innovation scene made up of some the biggest names in technology. The announcement by LogMeIn is further evidence that Ireland is an increasingly desirable destination for tech companies to grow their businesses and attract high-tech talent. LogMeIn joins the growing cluster of technology leaders, including Salesforce.com, Google, LinkedIn, and Facebook, establishing operational centres in Dublin."
