Dublin North East Labour TD, Seán Kenny, today welcomed the response from Irish Rail in relation to the long running problem of flooding at Bayside DART Station.

"I have been in contact with Irish Rail regarding Bayside DART Station in relation to the flooding that has been experienced there in the past year. Irish Rail have advised me that the flooding problem has been contained by remedial works that have been done at the station by fitting pumps to drain the flood water out of the station. There was a further flooding incident earlier this year, which was caused by a power failure" Deputy Kenny said.

"Irish Rail tell me that the flooding problems in Bayside Station are being investigated in order to determine the root causes. They are engaging the services of a specialist to give advice on how water drains away in the area surrounding Bayside Station, how much water the storm drains there can hold, and also alternative routing for water pumps. Fingal County Council are also involved, and both myself and local Labour councillor Cian O'Callaghan will be watching the situation", Deputy Kenny concluded.
