Following on the decision of the Irish Greyhound Board to shelve its report on the export of greyhounds to China, Deputy Seán Kenny TD of Dublin North East has welcomed this development.

"I welcome the decision that the Board has agreed to amend its report to ensure that Irish greyhounds are not exported from Ireland", Deputy Kenny said. "There is a lot of concern about China's poor animal welfare record, and it would be very difficult to ensure the wellbeing of Irish greyhounds once they leave the country."
