Dublin Bay North Labour TD Seán Kenny has welcomed the provision of funding for Scoil Eoin and North Bay Educate Together National School in Kilbarrack.

"Both Scoil Eoin on Greendale Road is getting additional funding for works to its roof, which are badly needed. North Bay Educate Together National School in Greendale in Kilbarrack require the funding for health and safety works that are needed to ensure that pupils and staff are totally safe when at school. All of this funding is essential to enable the schools to continue to provide education to our young people and I warmly welcome the funding."

"It is vitally important that the country maintains its educational facilities at primary level, in order to accommodate the increasing numbers of pupils over the next few years. We have to plan ahead for this, and this funding is a part of that planning."

"A five year plan Schools Capital Programme was unveiled by the Government worth €1.5 billion and the rolling out of this funding is being overseen by Minister for Education Jan O'Sullivan. This funding will see a total of 275 major school buildings projects commenced between now and 2016. The €100 million loan being provided by the European Investment Bank (EIB) will assist in funding this investment."
