Dublin Bay North Labour TD Seán Kenny has welcomed the provision of funding for Scoil Assaim in Raheny and the St. Vincent De Paul Infant School in Marino.

"Scoil Assaim in Raheny requires the funding for refurbishment works that will see a 2 new classrooms, while St. Vincent De Paul Infant School in Marino requires this funding for disability access works under the Access For All scheme. Both schools are continuing to provide education to our young people and I warmly welcome the funding."

"It is vitally important that the country maintains its educational facilities at primary level, in order to accommodate the increasing numbers of pupils over the next few years. We have to plan ahead for this, and this funding is a part of that planning."

"A five year plan Schools Capital Programme was unveiled by the Government worth €1.5 billion and the rolling out of this funding is being overseen by Minister for Education Jan O'Sullivan. This funding will see a total of 275 major school buildings projects commenced between now and 2016. The €100 million loan being provided by the European Investment Bank (EIB) will assist in funding this investment."
