Labour TD and member of the Oireachtas Transport Committee, Sean Kenny, has welcomed the news that Dublin Bus are looking at the possibility of all night bus services.

"I understand that this is being considered as a part of a review being carried out, in conjunction with the National Transport Authority, of the long running Nitelink service that is so familiar to people in Dublin."

"At the moment, conventional Dublin Bus services operate until between 11pm or midnight, and the Nitelink service operate until 4am on Friday and Saturday nights. I think it would be an excellent idea for all-night services to run all week, as it would help those who need to avail of public transport if they are working late, or overnight, or have to start working during the night. It would also assist those who are out late for social reasons on weeknights."

"Other cities throughout Europe operate services like this and I think there is potential for it to happen here as well. The question should be less about whether it should happen, and more about the extent of such a service."
