Local Labour TD for Clare Hall and member of the Oireachtas Transport Committee, Sean Kenny has welcomed the opening of a new National Driver Licence Service facility in Clare Hall.

"The National Driver Licence Service or NDLS, is the name given to the new, dedicated service which will receive applications for learner permits and driver licences I have been informed that the new NDLS Centre in Clarehall Shopping Centre will be fully operational from 5th August and is located on the 3rd floor of Clarehall Shopping Centre on the Malahide Road."

"I am glad to see this office opening and providing a local service to people in the local community and offering the new format of driving licences to people. Since the move from paper to plastic card, learner permits and licences are safer and more secure which will help to keep unlicensed, illegal drivers off our roads, as well as being tougher and longer lasting."

Appointments for the centre can be booked online at www.ndls.ie .
