Dublin Labour TD and Oireachtas Transport Committee member Sean Kenny has today called on Irish Rail to reconsider carrying out maintenance work on the DART line over the Easter Break weekend.

"It has been brought to my attention by constituents that Northside DART services are cancelled this Sunday, but no notices to this effect have been put up at local train stations."

"I am astonished that on the weekend of the Brian Boru Battle of Clontarf 1014 commemorations at St Anne's Park, and the Easter Break weekend in general, that Irish Rail are effectively reducing public transport options for people."

"In the past Irish Rail planned to engage in similar work on Bank Holiday weekends but have later changed their minds when representations were made to them to do so. Pressure obviously needs to be brought to bear on Irish Rail again and I am calling for them to postpone the maintenance work on the DART line to a later date."
