Sean Kenny, the Dublin Bay North Labour TD and member of the Oireachtas Committee on Transport has condemned the vandalism that saw the lifts at Howth Junction & Donaghmede DART Station put out of service from the start of June to the present.

"I have been told by Irish Rail that the lifts will be back in service in the middle of August. This is a very long wait, but the lifts were very badly vandalised and a lot of work needs to be undertaken."

"I deplore vandalism totally and this case it is particularly bad. This disgraceful attack on the local DART station is also an attack on the local community, especially on those who need to use the lifts. If anybody in the community has any knowledge of what happened they should contact the Gardaí."
