Dublin Bay North TD Seán Kenny has welcomed the launch of JobsPlus, the new employment scheme by Minister Joan Burton.

"JobsPlus is an incentive scheme to help the long term unemployed by allowing the Government to ensure the employment of people who have been out of work for a lengthy period of time. It allows employers to get a little bit of help in terms of being able to pay workers a decent wage."

"JobsPlus is a scheme badly needed by those who find themselves without work for an extended period of time, but who have excellent skills to contribute to society. The program gives society an opportunity to get people back to work, which will stimulate the economy, which help helping businesses, workers and families across the nation, and I want to pay tribute to Minister Burton who has been working very hard to deliver for ordinary people."

"Together with the Action Plan for Jobs, which is targeting support to help growing industries as well as the Strategic Investment Fund, which is providing funds from the National Pension Reserve Fund to invest in areas of the economy that have greatest commercial and employment potential, Labour in Government is genuinely pushing to get Ireland back on track towards economic recovery."
