Labour TD Seán Kenny, who was elected to represent Dublin North East and Portmarnock in the 2011 General Election has welcomed the co-option of Judy Dunne as a Labour Party councillor, replacing the outgoing going Councillor Peter Coyle, who has decided to retire.

"I have known Judy for many years now, and know she is very dedicated to the community of Portmarnock. She has a very solid level of experience both in politics and outside and I know she will be able to bring that experience to her work as a councillor. I have no doubt that she will be working hard to continue the sterling work of Councillor Peter Coyle."

"We need more women involved directly in influencing policy and decision making processes. I have no doubt at all that Judy's calibre, credibility and conscientiousness will enable her to make her mark on Fingal County Council in supporting the local community of Portmarnock. I look forward to working with her and affording any assistance I can to Judy in her work."

"I would also like to pay tribute to outgoing Councillor Peter Coyle who has served his community of Portmarnock brilliantly over the last 20 years. I will miss working with him, and I wish him well in his retirement. I know the local community will agree with me."
