Dublin Bay North and Howth Labour TD Seán Kenny has welcomed the news that Dublin cloud computing company Decisions (D4H) has secured a five-year contract with the Government of Alberta, Canada, to provide its software for emergency services to 40 search-and-rescue teams in the province.

"This excellent news was announced earlier this week during an Enterprise Ireland trade mission to Western Canada, which was organised with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Embassy of Ireland to Canada. D4H (Decisions for Heroes) is one of the 15 Irish companies that took part in the week's trade mission, which was led by the Labour Minister for Trade and Development Joe Costello, TD."

"D4H has pioneered software for emergency services to help them capture the information surrounding their rescue operations and training exercises in order to save more lives. In Alberta, D4H's software will be used by to 40 search-and-rescue (SAR) teams, which serve a population of almost 4m people across a landmass more than seven times the size of Ireland."

"The software will be used by the SAR teams to manage their incidents, personnel and equipment and to submit reports to Alberta's provincial government in order to create shared statistics and it is really significant that an Irish company has been chosen to provide the software that they need - this really says something about the quality of the Irish software industry."

"It is particularly good to see the Irish software industry in Dublin Bay North do well, and I want to congratulate the staff of D4H on the hard work that I know went into winning this contract."
