Dublin Bay North TD Seán Kenny has welcomed the announcement by the HSE that Baldoyle has been identified as a location for the provision of a new Primary Care Centre.

"I understand from the HSE that Centric Healthcare has been selected to develop the Primary Care Centre via an operational lease mechanism. A site has been identified which is accessible off the Grange road which satisfies the needs of all parties involved."

"This site is within the area which is currently under the consideration of Fingal County Council in the development of a Local Area Plan (LAP). Following publication of the LAP all outstanding PCC issues and timescales will be finalised."

"In a developed Primary Care system, as envisaged by the Government, up to 95% of people's day-to-day health and social care needs can be provided in a community setting. Primary Care services mean all of the health or social care services that you can find in your community, outside of the hospital setting. Primary Care includes GPs, Public Health Nurses and a range of other services provided through your Local Health Office such as Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Home Help Support Staff. The Primary Care Team members also link with other community-based disciplines to ensure all health and social needs are provided for, including Speech and Language Therapy, Dieticians, Mental Health Services. Social Work, Podiatry, Dental Services and Opthalmic Services."
