Dublin Bay North Labour TD, Seán Kenny, has welcomed the provision of funding for accommodation and remedial works for schools across the Dublin Bay North area in the past number of months.

"Scoil Aine in Raheny and Gaelcholaiste Reachrann in Donaghmede need this funding for mainstream classrooms as they continue to provide primary education to our local children. Chanel College in Coolock, St. Pauls Junior National School in Ayrfield and The Donahies CS, in Donaghmeade, are all receiving structural funding to maintain their facilities, which is also an important requirement for schools in carrying out their role."

"I warmly welcome the funding. It is vitally important that the country maintains its educational facilities at primary level, in order to accommodate the increasing numbers of pupils over the next few years. We have to plan ahead for this, and this funding is a part of that planning."

"Minister Quinn unveiled a five year plan Schools Capital Programme earlier this year worth €1.5 billion. This will see a total of 275 major school buildings projects commenced between now and 2016. The €100 million loan being provided by the European Investment Bank (EIB) will assist in funding this investment. Construction work being supported by this initiative is expected to be completed by 2014."
