Dublin Bay North Labour T.D. and member of the Oireachtas Transport Committee, Seán Kenny, has said that Christmas revellers in Dublin should use the bus or Luas to get home safely and securely, with late-night services being offered from tonight.

"I have been informed by Dublin Bus that all 18 Nitelink routes will have extra services running this weekend and every night from next Tuesday the 18th of December until the following Sunday the 23rd. Tickets will cost €5 and further information is available at www.dublinbus.ie.

"Bus Éireann will provide extra services from Cork city to Carrigaline, Ballincollig and Midleton on Friday and Saturday nights, with buses departing from St Patrick's Street at 1am, 2am and 3am. Bus Éireann will also provide Nightrider services from Dublin to Balbriggan, Drogheda, Dunshaughlin, Navan, Naas, Newsbridge and Clane over the period.

"Luas customers on the Green line can also use the Night Luas service from tonight, with trams running from St Stephen's Green to Brides Glen every half hour between 1am and 3.30am. The service runs on Friday and Saturday nights, and on New Year's Eve. Tickets cost €4. Unfortunately there will be no Night Luas on the Red line."
