Dublin Bay North Labour TD Seán Kenny says that following on from reports in today's Irish Independent, disgraced Priory Hall developer Tom McFeely should answer Garda questions regarding money that they believe was destined for the Revenue Commissioners.

"Gardaí are investigating the activities of Patrick Russell, a recently struck-off barrister and tax consultant, and they believe he gave developer Tom McFeely €290,000 that was destined for the taxman.

"I understand that Patrick Russell operated as a self-styled tax adviser-cum-property guru, and conned a company out of at least €290,000 it owed to the Revenue Commissioner, but instead he gave the cash to Priory Hall developer Tom McFeely.

"Apparently, one cheque, for €50,000, was made payable to Mr McFeely and the two other cheques, for €110,000 and €130,000 respectively, were made payable to Mr McFeely's Coalport Building Company Limited. Tom McFeely has refused to comment about any of this.

"It is bad enough that he has overseen the building of the absolute disaster that is Priory Hall, which has seen many families suffer serious hardship and trauma, but the thought that he might be involved with some sort of con-artist is infuriating. Tom McFeely needs to speak to the Gardaí immediately to answer the questions that they wish to put to him."
