Dublin North East Labour TD Seán Kenny has welcomed the announcement by the Department of Transport in relation to the investment of €60,000 for the carrying out of a road safety audit on the road markings along the N32 and a redesign of the road lane layouts in consultation with the NRA and the implementation of the revised road layout through new road markings.

"I have been asking the Minister Alan Kelly about the N32 for some time now and I am delighted that funding has now been released to enable work on the road markings here to take place. The present road markings are faded and obsolete and the bus lane markings are not used at present which leads to confusion for motorists using the road."

"I am looking forward to seeing the completed road layout designs and to seeing work getting underway to make the required changes. It is important that essential road works like these take place even though times are difficult in terms of economic spending - life has to continue on and that means that essential infrastructure such as existing roads have to be maintained."
