Dublin North East Labour TD, Seán Kenny, today condemned as 'pathetic' the excuses put forward by Priory Hall Builder, former Sinn/Féin IRA activist, and bankruptcy tourist, Thomas McFeely, in yesterday's Sunday Times, for his failure to carry out remedial works at his Priory Hall apartment development.

"McFeely seems to be using his Sinn Féin past, and the Northern peace process, as a shield to somehow ward off the justified public criticism of his atrocious behaviour towards the families who purchased his apartments in Priory Hall. McFeely's present behaviour typifies the statement that 'patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel'.

"While I was a Councillor on Dublin City Council, before last year's general election and before the Priory Hall evacuation, I received a number of threatening letters from Coalport Ltd (McFeely's company) telling me to cease highlighting the construction faults affecting my constituents in Priory Hall.

"Claiming to be a victim of a witch hunt by Dublin City Council and the media shows that McFeely's credibly is now a yawning chasm.

"I agree with the Priory Hall residents spokesperson quoted in yesterday's Sunday Times that his new found sympathy for them is 'false'".
