Dublin North East Labour TD, Seán Kenny, today called on the ESB to clarify the conflicting reports regarding the reported disconnection of the power supply yesterday at the abandoned Priory Hall development in North Dublin. Dublin City Council informed the residents yesterday through their solicitors that the disconnection of the power supply had already taken place.

"The power supply is essential to pump water from the apartments in the event of flooding caused by heavy rainfall. The basement car parks are already reported to be under 3 feet of water.

"I believe that action of this kind should not be taken by a public utility in advance of a ruling by the Supreme Court, which is shortly to consider the case of Dublin City Council versus the Priory Hall residents in relation to the continuation of the funding by Dublin City Council of resident's temporary accommodation costs."
