Dublin North East T.D. and Oireachtas Transport Committee Member Labour T.D., Seán Kenny, today admitted that he uses Dublin City's bus lanes on a daily basis when he travels to and from Leinster House each day by bus.

"If I'm really running late I will call a taxi who also whiz through the bus lanes."

"I would encourage Government Ministers to travel by bus as often as possible, to get a feel for the views of the bus travelling public. It would also contribute to easing traffic congestion in the city."

"I think that Government Ministers travelling by car in bus lanes sends out a totally wrong message in this age of austerity."

"As a former Chairperson of Dublin City Council Transport Policy, Deputy Kenny oversaw the implementation of QBCs throughout Dublin".
