Dublin North East Labour Party TD Seán Kenny has today welcomed the news that NAMA have a provided list of apartments to Dublin City Council with a view to offering further housing options to the residents who have been forced to evacuate Priory Hall.

"I understand that the apartments include 66 units in Belmayne, off the Malahide Road, 12 units in Belmayne Park, 38 units in Clongriffin, and eight units in Clongriffin Town Centre, all of which are in Dublin 13, as well as units in Baldoyle and Northern Cross on the Malahide Road."

"I very much welcome this development but I think it is very important that Dublin City Council ensures that apartments that are close to Donaghmede are offered first and foremost, so that disruption to the lives of the Priory Hall residents is minimized, particularily in relation access to schools for the children who have been displaced from their homes. It was now up to the council to review the list and make contact with the relevant owners or agents to see if it could agree terms. In this regard I would support the case for the Department of Education and Skills providing funding for a school bus to bring the children to their schools."
