Speaking in advance of a public information meeting to be convened by Dublin City Council tomorrow evening at the Hilton Hotel, Malahide Road, Dublin North East Labour TD, Seán Kenny, today called on the Dublin City Council to publish the Dublin City Council commissioned report by Hayes Higgins Consulting Engineers into construction defects at the Priory Hall apartment development in Dublin's North Fringe.

"For over two years residents at this Coalport constructed apartment development have enduring a continuing crisis since Dublin City Council detenanted sixteen social housing units on fire safety ground."

"Last month Dublin City Council informed each home owner in Priory Hall by letter to carry out safety checks on their individual electrical and gas supply installations despite the fact that apartment purchasers at Priory Hall have told me that they have certificates of compliance for both ESB and Bord Gais installation at the time of the build."

"I am calling on the Minister for the Environment to put the Building Control compliance certification procedures on a statutory basis as it is clearly evident that self-assessment in the construction sector does not work".
"Dublin City Council, as a Planning Authority and Building Control Authority, has questions to answer in relation to the regulatory failures now emerging at Priory Hall."
